Moving to Azure Premium from Azure AD Free

Hi All,

I've been tasked with implementing Azure services (including Azure AD DS) for an arm of the business and need some confirmation of what to expect. We have no on premise infra such as DCs.

At the moment, the business has Azure AD Free as part of their Office 365 subscription. We are looking to uplift them to Office Business Premium which comes with Azure P1 features, among others. I know that I'll need to arrange an Azure Subscription too, so that's covered.

My concern is surrounding the implementation of Azure AD DS as below:

  • When I roll this out, what happens with the existing users and devices within the Azure portal?
  • I have a large number of devices that are "Azure AD Registered". Will the status of these change?

I've only ever experienced a hybrid environment before so Azure AD DS cloud-only is new to me.

Appreciate any help offered.

Thanks

Hello @Robert Young , Azure AD P1 will enable additional features for your tenant and license assigned users but no negative impact will be seen to any of those, to the devices or to ADDS. They will keep operating as usual.
