"The app you want to add doesn't exist in this org..." error while trying to debug a Teams app on VSCode

Hello,

I'm trying to debug a Teams app in VSCode but I get the following error :

I tried to follow the instructions on this thread but this does not solve the issue. I also did every prerequisite cited in this official MS guide except the beta channels step and switching to the dev version of Teams (I'm working on Ubuntu and this option does not exist on the Linux Teams client). I also tried to attach the debugger to a browser (Firefox) but I'm still getting the same error message.

Is there anything I can do to make this work?

Here is my config:

Ubuntu 20.04
VSCode v1.69.0
Firefox v102.0
Teams toolkit v4.0.1

@Simon - Is the app allowed in organization level?
To check setting please refer below document.

Yes, custom apps are allowed at the organization level:

Thank you for your answer. As you can see on the screenshot I sent earlier,?platform=QnA sideloading is already enabled.

This is also confirmed by this indication on the Teams Toolkit for VSCode:

I tried again today to debug the same app again but after the debugger starts Firefox I have the same issue (ie. it displays the error: "The app you want to add does not exist in this org or you don't have permission to access it")

Could you please try to upload an app through developer portal and Teams admin center?

Ok I managed to deploy it via https://dev.teams.microsoft.com/apps and then I published and allowed the app in https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/policies/manage-apps.

Everything seems to be good as you can see in this screenshot:

@Simon - Could you please check with your Teams admin that you have the permissions for adding app or not?

Hello @Nivedipa-MSFT - I am the Teams admin since I'm working on a test tenant created via the Microsoft 365 Developer Program website.

I think I already had all the necessary permissions to upload an app but in doubt, I still completed the step called "Allow trusted users to upload custom apps" in this Microsoft tutorial.

Sadly, this is still not resolving the issue I have with debugging on VSCode.

Yesterday I decided to test it on Windows and got the same results but I noticed an error in the terminal output saying "preview.MissingTeamsAppId No teams app found in dev environment".

I fixed the error by logging into my demo tenant's M365 account by clicking somewhere near the highlighted text in the following screenshot (I think there's a login button that appears when you over it with the mouse cursor).

And now it works.
