Hello

Since about a month all employees in our company get the message "Microsoft Store is blocked"(screenshot). We have configured the following policies:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore.
AutoDownload=0x0000004
DisableOSUpgrade=0x0000001
RequirePrivateStoreOnly=0x0000001

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore
DisableOSUpgrade=0x0000001
RemoveWindowsStore=0x0000000
RequirePrivateStoreOnly=0x0000001

As soon as I delete the registry entry "RequirePrivateStoreOnly", the store works again. Unfortunately, the apps can no longer be restricted.

Does anyone have an idea why the app store is completely blocked?
We have not changed anything in the configuration as far as I know.

Greetings Int3g3r

    The corporate/educational store has never been supported in Windows 11 and is being retired in 1st qtr 2023 anyway. Simply having the policy key existing(enabled or disabled) now breaks the store client in Windows 11. I had to set group policy to "Not Configured" to remove the key.

    Since shutting off the store is bad for app updates, apparently the best (only?) option to control app access is Applocker going forward.

    had this same issue in our org even after confirming GPO does not block it and removing the reg keys. Today just for the heck of it went to app settings and tried the repair option - no go. Then tried the reset option and that resolved it.

    Do the people who reported these problems have Intune-managed locations?

    My problem was an Intune policy blocking the Store

    Does anyone have an idea why the app store is completely blocked?

    There may be several reasons-may be somehow change of settings in Group Policy made this blocking:

    Configure access to Microsoft Store
