Buy a Microsoft Action Pack for the first time

Appropriate roles: Global admin | User management admin | MPN Partner Admin | Admin agent

Note

Starting October 3, 2022, the Microsoft Partner Network is called the Microsoft Cloud Partner Program. Microsoft Action Pack is portfolio of resources that can jumpstart your business’s growth. You can find information about what's included at Microsoft Action Pack. The table of benefits and software license grants at the end of this article has detailed information about what each Action Pack provides.

Get started

If you're new to partnering with Microsoft, the first step is to join the Microsoft Partner Network. Just go to Join the Microsoft Partner Network and select Join now.

After you've joined the partner network, select Get started to buy your first Action Pack.

You can buy one Action Pack per Partner global account.

Make a payment

You can pay for an Action Pack with a credit card or an electronic funds transfer.

Pay with a credit card

To pay with a credit card:

  1. If you selected Credit card as your payment method, the Credit card details page appears.

  2. Select Agreement close to the top of the page, and review the MPN Offer Purchase Terms and Conditions on behalf of your company. This agreement has important information about your billing account, renewal, refund eligibility, and taxes.

  3. Enter the required information and then select Pay.

    Note

Make sure you enter your credit card billing address and ZIP code on this page. If your legal entity address is different from your credit card billing address, do not use your legal entity address.

Your payment will be collected through a third-party, secure payment gateway.

Your Microsoft Action Pack is activated when the transaction is completed.

Pay with an electronic bank transfer

To pay with an electronic bank transfer:

  1. If you selected Electronic bank transfer as your payment method, you'll see the Review purchase details page.

  2. Select Agreement toward the bottom of the page and review the MPN Offer Purchase Terms and Conditions on behalf of your company. This agreement has important information about your billing account, renewal, refund eligibility, and taxes.

  3. Review the bank transfer information that you’ll need.

  4. In the Your selected purchase area, make a note of the amount due and the currency fee. You'll need to know both to make the transfer in step 8.

  5. Select Submit.

  6. Your Order number and PartnerID will appear when you submit the order. Make a note of this information as well. You'll need to know both to make the transfer in step 8.

  7. If your submission was successful, you'll see a confirmation page. (After you complete the electronic transfer with your bank, you’ll return to this page later to Upload proof of an electronic funds transfer.)

  8. Complete the electronic transfer from your bank account. Be sure to:

    1. Transfer the amount due (in the currency you noted in step 4) to the Microsoft bank account shown in the previous page’s Wire transfer instructions.
    2. Include both the Order number and PartnerID that you recorded in step 6 in your electronic transfer reference details.
  9. When your bank confirms the transaction, take a photo of the bank confirmation and save it to submit later as your payment proof. Make sure the payment proof photo shows:

    • The date the electronic transfer payment occurred
    • The Microsoft bank account used to receive your electronic transfer
    • The transfer amount, shown in the correct currency
    • Your order number and PartnerID number
  10. Go to the next section, Upload proof of an electronic funds transfer.

Upload proof of an electronic funds transfer

If you pay with an electronic funds transfer, you must upload your payment proof to Partner Center.

To upload your payment proof:

  1. Sign in to the Partner Center dashboard, select the Membership workspace, then select Membership offers.

  2. In the Membership offers page, select the respective card and click on Upload payment proof.

  3. On the details page, find the Payment proof field. Select Browse to locate and upload your payment proof photo to Partner Center.

  4. Complete the information in the other boxes related to your electronic funds transfer, such as Payment date, Paid to account number, and Transaction/Ref no.

A message may appear telling you that your request was successfully completed.

Your purchase typically becomes active between 48 and 72 hours after payment reaches Microsoft’s bank account. The entire process can take up to a week to complete. Providing the necessary information in your electronic bank transfer reference details (such as, Order number and PartnerID) and uploading proof of payment to Partner Center helps get your payment processed and your Action Pack subscription activated sooner.

If the payment process isn't fully completed within 30 days of your order creation date, the status of your order changes to expired. If your order is expired, you'll have to create a new order from Partner Center directly but won't have to send payment again.

Switch payment from electronic bank transfer to credit card

You might decide later to change your payment method. For example, you might decide to use a credit card payment instead of an electronic bank transfer. Or, you may already have an unactioned electronic bank transfer order created in the system.

To change your payment preferences for an existing order, you first need to cancel the order, then repurchase it using your preferred payment method.

To cancel an existing, unactioned electronic bank transfer and change your payment preferences:

  1. Sign in to the Partner Center dashboard, select Membership, then select Membership offers.
  2. In the Membership offers page, select the respective card and click on Cancel Order.
  3. Follow the remaining steps to cancel the order.
  4. Refer to earlier sections of this article to create a new order with different payment preferences.

Update your bill-to address

In the process of renewing or purchasing an Action Pack, you can validate your bill-to address.

To update your bill-to address:

  1. After selecting Submit, you can review the details of your purchase. If you see that your address needs to be updated, select Update.
  2. On the Legal profile page, update your address.

Download your Action Pack invoice

To download your Action Pack invoice:

  1. Go to the Membership offers page.
  2. Select Microsoft Action Pack Subscription to view your subscription details.
  3. Select Download invoice.

Choose Microsoft Action Pack or Learning Action Pack

After your payment is made, you’ll be prompted to choose one of the two Action Packs offerings, Microsoft Action Pack or Learning Action Pack.

You can view and compare the benefits of both Action Packs in Get Action Pack benefits and license details at the end of this article. You can also download the Action Pack benefits tables.

Read the descriptions of the two types of Action Packs carefully and choose the one that suits your company’s needs best.

Important

After you choose one of the Action Packs and save your choice, that choice is permanent for the rest of the year. The selection screen won’t be available to you again until your next renewal period.

Microsoft Action Pack renewal eligibility

You can renew your Action Pack subscription only after it expires. For example, if your Action Pack subscription expires on June 22, you can renew it starting June 23 and for 30 days afterward. You can find your Action Pack subscription's expiration date on your membership offers page (sign-in required).

When you’re eligible to renew, follow the steps at the renewal page.

Note

Cloud benefits/internal-use rights (IURs) activated on Microsoft 365 Admin Center portal aren't renewed automatically when you renew your Action Pack subscription. Redeem the cloud software subscription keys that are provisioned for your Action Pack and extend the end date.

Cancel your Action Pack

To cancel your Action Pack:
