Tabs
On Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs, use tabs when you are working with a large amount of information that can be sorted into several categories. Tabs in an application provide visual grouping of related information and functionality while keeping the entire record readily accessible. Tabs are not available for Windows Mobile–based Smartphone devices. For Smartphone devices, use the Full Screen MLE control instead for notes and an intermediate card for options and settings.
When you include tabs in your application, use the following guidelines:
- Avoid creating more tabs than can fit on the screen at one time so the user does not need to scroll to view the tabs.
- Ensure that all of the edit controls are visible on a property sheet when the input panel is displayed so the user does not need to scroll to view the controls.
- Place tabs at the bottom of the screen to keep the content area uncluttered at the top of the screen.
