Exploring the International Retail Site
The International Retail Site provides a starting point for building an International Retail site on top of the Commerce Server 2002 .NET platform.
This section provides procedures that you can follow to explore the functionality of the International Retail site. These procedures should be performed in the following order:
- Step 1. Adding data to the site. Before you can completely explore the International Retail Site, you must import the Adventure Works catalog, copy images, add a shipping method, add tax rates, and currency conversion information by using Commerce Server Business Desk. To create banner ads, see Creating an Ad in the Commerce Server 2002 help system.
- Step. 2. Selecting a locale. Select from one of the following supported locales: English-United States, English-Canada, French-Canada, French-France, German-Germany, and Japanese-Japan are all supported.
- Step 3. Creating a new user account. Create a new user account.
- Step 4. Creating an address for the user. This address becomes the primary billing/shipping address.
- Step 5. Logging onto the site using the new user account. This step verifies that the user account was created successfully.
- Step 6. Shopping the Adventure Works catalog. In this step, you will do the following:
- Add one item from the Adventure Works catalog to the shopping cart.
- Check out with one line item in the shopping cart.
- Add a new credit card to the profile for the registered user.
- Step 7. Performing simple and advanced searches. You will perform searches of the Adventure Works catalog.
- Step 8. Placing a multiple shipment order. In this step, you will do the following:
- Add a new address for the registered user.
- Add two items to the registered user's cart, and then check out. Each item in the cart is sent to a different address.
