Managing Builds (Team System Web Access)

Use Team System Web Access to manage the software build process by:

  • Starting a build.

  • Stopping a build.

  • Searching for a build by using filtering functionality.

  • Displaying build reports.

For example, when a build definition has been created in Team Explorer, you can configure a build from the Start Build dialog box in Team System Web Access. You can set build properties such as the build definition, build agent, drop folder, and build priority. You can also stop a build after you have started it.

You can use Team System Web Access to view build results and use filters that help you find a particular build. For example, you can filter for a specific queued build or set of queued builds with similar criteria by setting values for the build filters. Similarly, you can filter for a specific completed build or set of completed builds.

You can also use Team System Web Access to create build quality identifiers and assign them to completed builds.

To use Team System Web Access build management features, you must have Team Foundation Build installed on a build computer. You must also have appropriate permissions on Team Foundation Server to access the build information. For more information about how to use Team Foundation Build on a build computer, see Managing Builds with Team Foundation Build. For more information about how to administer Team Foundation Build, see Administering Team Foundation Build.
