Use this directory to find a Microsoft Fabric Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for your scenario and open its documentation. Fabric MCP integrations support resource management, data access, semantic modeling, and workload-specific tasks.
Consult the linked documentation for setup, supported clients, prerequisites, and limitations. Availability and authentication requirements vary by server. An agent can use more than one server when its MCP client supports that configuration.
Fabric MCP servers
Remote servers in this table are hosted by Microsoft. Local servers run in an environment that you manage. These labels describe server hosting, not where your MCP client or model processes data. Local servers can still connect to live Fabric resources.
| MCP server | Primary use | Hosting | Documentation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fabric Core MCP Server | Manage Fabric workspaces, items, folders, and workspace roles. | Remote | Core server setup |
| Fabric Data Warehouse MCP server | Run Transact-SQL (T-SQL) against a warehouse or SQL analytics endpoint. | Remote | Connect to the server |
| Eventhouse MCP server | Discover schemas and query Eventhouse data with Kusto Query Language (KQL). | Remote | Eventhouse setup |
| Activator MCP server | Create and manage monitoring rules with email or Microsoft Teams actions. | Remote | Activator setup |
| Operations agent MCP server | Configure operations agent instructions, generate playbooks, and manage monitoring. | Remote | Real-Time Intelligence MCP overview |
| Power BI MCP server (remote) | Query existing semantic models and answer business questions with Data Analysis Expressions (DAX). | Remote | Power BI query setup |
| Power BI semantic model authoring (remote) | Author semantic models through the hosted Power BI modeling service. | Remote | Hosted modeling setup in Fabric Skills |
| Fabric data agent as an MCP server | Ask a published data agent questions grounded in its configured data sources. | Remote | Use a data agent through MCP |
| Ontology MCP server | Provide an AI agent with business entities, relationships, and definitions from an ontology. | Remote | Use Ontology MCP Server |
| Fabric MCP Server (local) | Develop Fabric solutions with API documentation, OneLake tools, and core and Data Factory operations. | Local | Local Fabric server setup |
| DataFactory MCP server | Manage Data Factory connections, dataflows, pipelines, and Apache Airflow jobs with the separate DataFactory tool. | Local | Pipeline guide and Airflow guide |
| Real-Time Intelligence MCP server (local) | Work with Eventhouse, Eventstreams, Activator, maps, and Azure Data Explorer resources. | Local | Local Real-Time Intelligence setup |
| Power BI Modeling MCP server | Create, edit, and validate Power BI semantic models. | Local | Setup and reference |
OneLake tools are included in Fabric MCP Server (local), rather than a separate server. See Use AI agents with OneLake through MCP.
