How do I schedule a class?
You've created your class, now it's time to add it to the Schedule!
We encourage scheduling classes at least 2 weeks in advance to ensure that students have time to plan the class into their schedule.
- Head to the Group Classes section under the Profile tab in your Teacher Account. Then, click Add Event next to the class you would like to schedule.
- Select the class frequency from the drop-down menu. Recurring events will repeat at the same time, either daily or weekly, until your chosen end date.
- Select the start Date and Time of your event from the drop-down menu. If you are scheduling a Recurring Class, you will also be required to enter the End Date for the series.
- Select the preferred platform for your class or lesson series from the Event Link menu.
If you will be using an alternate platform for the class, select Custom URL then enter the FULL URL in the box provided. If a custom URL is not entered, the class will be scheduled to take place in Microsoft Teams.
Notes About Custom URLs:
- The URL for a class cannot be edited after it has been scheduled.
- Full URL's must be entered. For example: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/71426090964?pwd=4FYkgYGiF01gPf6KLotF16tu44ycDd
- To ensure payment for teaching a group class, you MUST join the class via the Join button in your TakeLessons Teacher account, or via the link in the class reminder email sent by TakeLessons. This enables your attendance to be logged in the TakeLessons system.

- Double-check that your selected class, date, time, and URL selections are correct. Keep in mind that your class cannot be rescheduled once submitted. Once everything looks good, click Save.
We encourage you to set a reminder for the event in your personal calendar and encourage your students to register for the class.
Classes cannot be scheduled when:
- You have a lesson or class already scheduled at that date and time
- Another teacher is scheduled to teach the selected event
Canceling classes
Be aware that 3+ cancellations in 1 month may result in suspension or removal from teaching group classes, so double-check your schedule before adding events.
