Microsoft Learn for Educators(MSLE)

Microsoft Learn for Educators is committed to empowering every faculty member with the resources and tools needed to equip students with cutting-edge technical skills. These in-demand skills, from cloud computing to AI and beyond, are aligned to industry-recognized Microsoft Credentials and will set graduates up for real-world success.

Eligibility criteria

Educators that meet either of the following criteria may sign-up to join MSLE:

  • Educators and faculty members at higher education institutions that offer accredited degree, diploma, certificate, or continuing or further education programs, such as colleges, universities, community colleges, polytechnics
  • Educators at secondary schools with STEM focused curriculum

Note

Once you have joined MSLE as an individual, you may nominate your Institution to be part of MSLE to access additional benefits. If your school has already joined MSLE, it will be listed in the drop-down menu when you enroll.

Official Microsoft Curriculum for teaching AI and tech skills

Microsoft Official Courseware (MOC) consists of the official instructor-led course materials provided by Microsoft to educate IT professionals, developers, students at academic institutions, and other learners on Microsoft technologies. It includes a comprehensive suite of tools and resources like PowerPoint slides, a trainer guide, as well as formative and summative assessment guides in some cases, to enable innovative, experiential technical skills education.

Lab environments for teaching

Register your course in the MSLE Portal and unlock free or discounted interactive labs for your students. These immersive labs provide unparalleled interactive, real-world scenarios, transforming learning into an engaging and unforgettable journey. $100 Azure credit for students

By creating an Azure for Students account, your students will receive access to more than 25 free Azure services plus $100 in Azure credit that renews annually.

Azure dev tools for teaching

Microsoft Azure Dev Tools for Teaching puts professional developer tools, software, and services from Microsoft in the hands of faculty and students with low-cost subscriptions. Students receive developer tools at no cost — everything needed to create apps, games, and websites — so they can chase their dreams, create the next significant breakthrough in technology, or get a head start on their career. We designed Azure Dev Tools for Teaching for STEM-focused instruction. Any course curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering, or mathematics is eligible to use Azure Dev Tools for Teaching to help professors teach and students learn more effectively. Training sessions for faculty to get skilled and certified

Participating in our live or recorded deliveries of Microsoft official courses accelerate your own learning journey. This experience enables you to go through the same experience that you may be looking to create for students within your own courses. Attend our training days, see a Microsoft technical trainer deliver the Microsoft curriculum, and deepen your own technical knowledge.

Certification exam vouchers for educators

We suggest that all faculty members get certified in the content they're teaching. Educators receive a free/discounted Microsoft Certification exam voucher as follows:

  • Microsoft Fundamentals certification - Discounted
  • Microsoft Advanced Role-based certification - Free Use this voucher to take the certification exam associated with the course you teach. These vouchers are non-transferable and can be redeemed through any Pearson VUE testing center.

MSLE Institution badge

The Microsoft Learn for Educators Institution badge can be used by eligible schools to show they are leveraging Microsoft technical skilling resources in their teaching through the MSLE program. Available to eligible Educational Institutions by navigating to the program documents in the MSLE Portal.

MSLE global educator community

Engage and collaborate with an exclusive, global community of educators and MSLE Community Managers. Access announcements, events, post questions, receive direct responses, and collaborate new ways of teaching with AI with educators from across the globe.

Press release guidelines and marketing kit

The Press release guidelines and marketing kit is an easy-to-use guide for creating and distributing content for press, whether at the beginning of your journey with MSLE or when you have finished teaching for the term.

The kit contains Microsoft-approved messaging, statistics, quotes, social media tips, as well as the newly released Microsoft Learn for Educators Institution badge which institutions can use to show they are leveraging Microsoft resources through the MSLE program.

Microsoft Learn for Educators helps you build your students’ technical skills using curriculum and educational materials from Microsoft. It also provides access to a wide variety of Microsoft tools and resources to support you and your students in your classes. Here are a few on-demand resources that will help you and your students develop critical technical skills for the future:

  • Microsoft Open Source curriculum: Access curated, semester-long experiences for students and educators who would like to use this MIT-licensed content in their classrooms on GitHub.
  • Microsoft Educator Center: Dive deep into learning with interactive lessons, earn professional development hours, acquire certifications and find programs that help meet your goals.
  • Workshop-O-Matic: A workshop library built by Cloud Advocates in partnership with Microsoft Student Ambassadors. In this GitHub repo, you'll find grab-and-go resources to help you host your own workshops AI/ML, data, and web and app development.
  • Microsoft Certification Practice Assessment: Practice assessments on Microsoft Learn allow you and your students to assess readiness, determine where additional preparation is needed, and fill knowledge gaps bringing everyone one step closer to the likelihood of passing a Microsoft Certification exam.
  • Microsoft Learn Student Hub: Built for students looking to master new concepts at their own speed and schedule, Microsoft Learn Student Hub allows students to develop practical skills through fun, interactive modules and learning paths. Educators and students can explore courses from universities like UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, and University of Oxford – all tailored for students who want to build in-demand job skills and the educators that want to teach them.
  • Microsoft Technical Quest: The Microsoft Technical Quest game can be played during a 15-minute to 30-minute course break, at lunch, or even after an event. It offers learners the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge of Azure administration and architecture. Skill and chance both play a role in this hands-on, multiplayer or autonomous game, as players architect solutions based on real-world application of Microsoft technologies. With Microsoft Technical Quest, learners apply what they’ve learned and add to their technical skills, knowledge, and experience.
