Microsoft Power Platform
Evaluate Power Platform requirements, identify implementation constraints, and select component-level approaches for logic, data, user experience, and agents. Apply approved identity and security models, and escalate organization-level decisions to their owners.
Learning objectives
After completing this module, you'll be able to:
- Analyze solution requirements and components to identify their implementation approaches within an approved architecture
- Determine whether requirements can be met with out-of-the-box functionality
- Determine where to implement business logic, including cloud services, client-side processing, business rules, plug-ins, and Power Automate
- Determine when to use standard tables, virtual tables, elastic tables, or connectors
- Determine when to use deterministic or non-deterministic methods to implement business logic
- Design component-level authentication and authorization within the approved identity model
- Assess how managed environments, data policies, security roles, teams, business units, and row sharing affect implementation, and escalate changes to organization-level controls
- Determine when to use code apps, generative pages, Power Apps component frameworks (PCFs), web resources, interactive agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) app widgets to implement the user experience
- Determine when to use Microsoft Foundry or Microsoft Copilot Studio to build agents
Prerequisites
Before starting this module, you should be able to:
- Translate stakeholder needs into functional and nonfunctional requirements for a Microsoft Power Platform solution.
