FileStream.GetAccessControl Method

Definition

Gets a FileSecurity object that encapsulates the access control list (ACL) entries for the file described by the current FileStream object.

Exceptions

The file is closed.

An I/O error occurred while opening the file.

The file could not be found.

This operation is not supported on the current platform.

Remarks

While the FileStream class and GetAccessControl can be used to retrieve the access control list (ACL) entries of an existing file, consider using File.GetAccessControl method, as it's easier to use.

Use the GetAccessControl method to retrieve the ACL entries for a file.
