ObjectDataSourceView.OnObjectCreating(ObjectDataSourceEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the ObjectCreating event before the ObjectDataSourceView object creates an instance of a business object to perform a data operation.

protected:
 virtual void OnObjectCreating(System::Web::UI::WebControls::ObjectDataSourceEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnObjectCreating (System.Web.UI.WebControls.ObjectDataSourceEventArgs e);
abstract member OnObjectCreating : System.Web.UI.WebControls.ObjectDataSourceEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnObjectCreating : System.Web.UI.WebControls.ObjectDataSourceEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnObjectCreating (e As ObjectDataSourceEventArgs)

Parameters

e
ObjectDataSourceEventArgs

An ObjectDataSourceEventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information about how to handle events, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnObjectCreating method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding the OnObjectCreating(ObjectDataSourceEventArgs) method in a derived class, be sure to call the OnObjectCreating(ObjectDataSourceEventArgs) method for the base class so that registered delegates receive the event.
