DataGridView.OnNewRowNeeded(DataGridViewRowEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the NewRowNeeded event.

protected:
 virtual void OnNewRowNeeded(System::Windows::Forms::DataGridViewRowEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnNewRowNeeded (System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewRowEventArgs e);
abstract member OnNewRowNeeded : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewRowEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnNewRowNeeded : System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewRowEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnNewRowNeeded (e As DataGridViewRowEventArgs)

Parameters

e
DataGridViewRowEventArgs

A DataGridViewRowEventArgs that contains the event data.

Exceptions

The row indicated by the Row property of e does not belong to this DataGridView control.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnNewRowNeeded method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnNewRowNeeded(DataGridViewRowEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnNewRowNeeded(DataGridViewRowEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
