ListControl.OnFormat(ListControlConvertEventArgs) Method

Definition

Raises the Format event.

protected:
 virtual void OnFormat(System::Windows::Forms::ListControlConvertEventArgs ^ e);
protected virtual void OnFormat (System.Windows.Forms.ListControlConvertEventArgs e);
abstract member OnFormat : System.Windows.Forms.ListControlConvertEventArgs -> unit
override this.OnFormat : System.Windows.Forms.ListControlConvertEventArgs -> unit
Protected Overridable Sub OnFormat (e As ListControlConvertEventArgs)

Parameters

e
ListControlConvertEventArgs

A ListControlConvertEventArgs that contains the event data.

Remarks

Raising an event invokes the event handler through a delegate. For more information, see Handling and Raising Events.

The OnFormat method also allows derived classes to handle the event without attaching a delegate. This is the preferred technique for handling the event in a derived class.

Notes to Inheritors

When overriding OnFormat(ListControlConvertEventArgs) in a derived class, be sure to call the base class's OnFormat(ListControlConvertEventArgs) method so that registered delegates receive the event.
