Cost management for Azure Marketplace purchases

Microsoft Cost Management + Billing is a suite of tools provided by Microsoft to help you analyze, manage, and optimize the costs of Azure workloads.

Common tasks include:

  • Manage billing
  • Access costs
  • Download cost and usage data
  • Apply data analysis to your costs proactively
  • Set spending thresholds
  • Track against budgets
  • Identify opportunities for workload changes to optimize spending

You can use Microsoft Cost Management + Billing to analyze Azure Marketplace charges alongside your Azure service charges.

Access Cost Management + Billing in Azure portal

  1. Access Cost Management + Billing in the Azure portal:

  2. Select the billing scope you want. Scopes are where you manage billing data, including billing from Azure Marketplace, have roles specific to payments, view invoices, and conduct general account management. Billing and account roles are managed separately from roles used for resource management, which use Azure role-based access control.

Download and view your marketplace invoice

You can download and view your Marketplace invoices.

Use cost management to view your marketplace invoice under an Enterprise Agreement (EA)

Enterprise Agreement (EA) customers (except customers in Australia, Japan, and Singapore) receive a consolidated invoice including both Azure charges and Azure Marketplace charges. The invoice displays Azure charges followed by Azure Marketplace charges. Learn how to download or view your invoice including Azure Marketplace charges. Customers in Australia, Japan, or Singapore can learn how to review your Azure Marketplace invoice.

Use cost management to view your marketplace invoices under a Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA)

For purchases through Azure Marketplace, each invoice contains charges for Azure usage and marketplace purchases. Learn how to download and understand your Azure external services charges. You must be a billing profile Owner, Contributor, Reader, or Invoice manager to view your Azure usage and charges under an MCA.

Download and view your cost details
