Questo metodo usa le regole di maiuscole e minuscole delle impostazioni cultura correnti per convertire ogni carattere nell'istanza corrente nell'equivalente maiuscolo. Se un carattere non ha un equivalente maiuscolo, viene incluso invariato nella stringa restituita.

Nota

Questo metodo non modifica il valore dell'istanza corrente. Restituisce invece una nuova stringa in cui tutti i caratteri dell'istanza corrente vengono convertiti in lettere maiuscole.

Il ToUpper metodo viene spesso usato per convertire una stringa in maiuscolo in modo che possa essere usato in un confronto senza distinzione tra maiuscole e minuscole. Un metodo migliore per eseguire un confronto senza distinzione tra maiuscole e minuscole consiste nel chiamare un metodo di confronto tra stringhe con un StringComparison parametro il cui valore è impostato su StringComparison.CurrentCultureIgnoreCase per un confronto senza distinzione tra maiuscole e minuscole.

L'operazione di maiuscole e minuscole risultante dalla chiamata al ToUpper() metodo prende in considerazione le convenzioni di maiuscole e minuscole delle impostazioni cultura correnti. Se è necessaria la versione minuscola o maiuscola di un identificatore del sistema operativo, ad esempio un nome file, una named pipe o una chiave del Registro di sistema, usare il ToLowerInvariant metodo o ToUpperInvariant . Questo produce lo stesso risultato in tutte le impostazioni cultura (a differenza del ToUpper() metodo) ed esegue in modo più efficiente.

Come illustrato in Procedure consigliate per l'uso di stringhe, è consigliabile evitare di chiamare metodi di combinazione di maiuscole e minuscole stringa che sostituiscono i valori predefiniti e chiamano invece metodi che richiedono l'impostazione esplicita dei parametri. Per convertire una stringa in maiuscolo usando le convenzioni di maiuscole e minuscole delle impostazioni cultura correnti, segnalare in modo esplicito l'intenzione chiamando l'overload del ToUpper(CultureInfo) metodo con un valore di CurrentCulture per il relativo culture parametro. Se non è necessario un confronto con riconoscimento linguistico, è consigliabile usare Ordinal.

Le regole di maiuscole e minuscole delle impostazioni cultura specificate dal culture parametro determinano il modo in cui viene modificata la combinazione di maiuscole e minuscole di una stringa.

Nota

Questo metodo non modifica il valore dell'istanza corrente. Restituisce invece una nuova stringa in cui tutti i caratteri dell'istanza corrente vengono convertiti in lettere maiuscole.

Se si passa il ToUpper(CultureInfo) metodo un CultureInfo oggetto diverso da CultureInfo.InvariantCulture, l'operazione di maiuscole e minuscole prenderà in considerazione le regole specifiche delle impostazioni cultura.
