Licensing requirements for each table type

Completed

Complex and restricted tables require additional licensing. The following table summarizes license requirements for each type of table.

Table type License requirements
Standard and Custom tables Microsoft 365, Per app plan, Per user plan, Dynamics 365
Complex tables Per user plan, Dynamics 365
Restricted tables Specific Dynamics 365 application licenses

App makers/users can use most of the tables available within Dataverse with a per app Power Apps and Power Automate license. However, some tables that contain complex logic or are tied to customer engagement apps in Dynamics 365 might require app users to have a specific license.

Tables with complex business logic (or Complex tables) such as code plug-ins or real time workflows will require that users have a Power Apps or Power Automate per user license.

Restricted tables aren't standard tables within Dataverse, but are included in one of the customer engagement apps in Dynamics 365 or a third-party solution. They'll require a Dynamics 365 license.
