Navigate the Teams space

Completed

Microsoft Teams features a user-friendly dashboard that's easy to navigate.

The Teams dashboard

When they launch the Teams app, educators and learners arrive at the Teams dashboard. The center of the screen contains white tiles with icons. Each icon represents a team the learner or educator belongs to. These teams might be teams that the educators created or joined, or teams that educators and learners have been added to by someone else.

The teams are organized into three sections:

  • Classes: All class teams
  • Teams: Staff, PLC, and other teams
  • Hidden: Active teams that are hidden from the default view

The Teams workspace

Select a team to open that team's workspace. This workspace contains two primary areas: the Me Space and the We Space.

The Me Space

The navigation bar on the left side of Teams (on a computer) is called the Me Space because it contains controls and notifications related to the specific user. The Me Space includes:

  • Notifications about recent activity
  • Private chats
  • Teams
  • Assignments
  • Calendar
  • Calls
  • OneDrive
  • Apps

The We Space

The We Space is for connection and collaboration with team members. In the Posts tab in every channel, learners and colleagues can converse with their class or team. In the Files tab of every channel, team members can share files. Class, staff, and PLC teams include a OneNote notebook. Class teams also include educational apps and learning accelerators that facilitate virtual learning.
