Interfejs IDictionary jest interfejsem podstawowym dla niegenerycznych kolekcji par klucz/wartość. Aby uzyskać ogólną wersję tego interfejsu, zobacz System.Collections.Generic.IDictionary<TKey,TValue>.
Każdy element jest parą klucz/wartość przechowywaną w obiekcie DictionaryEntry.
Każda para musi mieć unikatowy klucz. Implementacje mogą się różnić w zależności od tego, czy zezwalają na wartość null klucza. Wartość może mieć wartość null i nie musi być unikatowa. Interfejs IDictionary umożliwia wyliczanie zawartych kluczy i wartości, ale nie oznacza żadnej określonej kolejności sortowania.
