Valor numérico é uma propriedade de caractere Unicode que se aplica somente a caracteres numéricos, que incluem frações, subscritos, sobrescritos, numerais romanos, numeradores de moeda, números cercados e dígitos específicos do script. O GetNumericValue(Char) método pressupõe que ch corresponde a um único caractere linguístico e verifica se esse caractere pode ser convertido em um dígito decimal. No entanto, alguns números no padrão Unicode são representados por dois Char objetos que formam um par alternativo. Se o Char objeto em posição index for o primeiro caractere de um par alternativo válido, o GetNumericValue(String, Int32) método determinará se o par alternativo forma um dígito numérico e, se o fizer, retornará seu valor numérico.
