CustomErrorsSection.DefaultRedirect Property

Definition

Gets or sets the default URL for redirection.

public:
 property System::String ^ DefaultRedirect { System::String ^ get(); void set(System::String ^ value); };
[System.Configuration.ConfigurationProperty("defaultRedirect")]
public string DefaultRedirect { get; set; }
[<System.Configuration.ConfigurationProperty("defaultRedirect")>]
member this.DefaultRedirect : string with get, set
Public Property DefaultRedirect As String

Property Value

The default URL to which the application is redirected when an error occurs.

Attributes

Exceptions

The DefaultRedirect property is null. This is the default.

Examples

The following code example shows how to use the DefaultRedirect property.

Refer to the code example in the CustomErrorsSection class topic to learn how to get the section.

// Get the currentDefaultRedirect
string currentDefaultRedirect =
    customErrorsSection.DefaultRedirect;
' Get the currentDefaultRedirect
  Dim currentDefaultRedirect As String = _
  customErrorsSection.DefaultRedirect

Remarks

If the DefaultRedirect is not specified, a standard error is displayed instead. The DefaultRedirect specifies the generic error page to activate in case no error custom page exists.

Note

The URL might be an absolute or a relative value. A relative URL is relative to the Web.config file that specified the DefaultRedirect, not to the Web page in which the error occurred. A relative URL starting with a tilde (~) is relative to the root path of the application.
