LongValidatorAttribute Class

Definition

Declaratively instructs .NET to perform long-integer validation on a configuration property. This class cannot be inherited.

public ref class LongValidatorAttribute sealed : System::Configuration::ConfigurationValidatorAttribute
[System.AttributeUsage(System.AttributeTargets.Property)]
public sealed class LongValidatorAttribute : System.Configuration.ConfigurationValidatorAttribute
[<System.AttributeUsage(System.AttributeTargets.Property)>]
type LongValidatorAttribute = class

Examples

The following example shows how to decorate the properties of a custom ConfigurationSection object using the LongValidatorAttribute attribute.

[ConfigurationProperty("maxUsers", DefaultValue = (long)10000,
    IsRequired = false)]
[LongValidator(MinValue = 1, MaxValue = 10000000,
    ExcludeRange = false)]
public long MaxUsers
{
    get
    {
        return (long)this["maxUsers"];
    }
    set
    {
        this["maxUsers"] = value;
    }
}
<ConfigurationProperty("maxUsers", _
DefaultValue:=10000, _
IsRequired:=False), _
LongValidator(MinValue:=1, _
MaxValue:=10000000, _
ExcludeRange:=False)> _
Public Property MaxUsers() As Long
    Get
        Return Fix(Me("maxUsers"))
    End Get
    Set(ByVal value As Long)
        Me("maxUsers") = value
    End Set
End Property

Remarks

You use the LongValidatorAttribute attribute to decorate a configuration property. This is to instruct .NET to validate the property using a LongValidator object and pass to it the value of the decorating parameters.

You can apply the LongValidatorAttribute attribute to property types only.

Constructors

LongValidatorAttribute()

Initializes a new instance of the LongValidatorAttribute class.

Properties

ExcludeRange

Gets or sets a value that indicates whether to include or exclude the integers in the range defined by the MinValue and MaxValue property values.

MaxValue

Gets or sets the maximum value allowed for the property.

MinValue

Gets or sets the minimum value allowed for the property.

TypeId

When implemented in a derived class, gets a unique identifier for this Attribute.

(Inherited from Attribute)
ValidatorInstance

Gets an instance of the LongValidator class.

ValidatorType

Gets the type of the validator attribute.

(Inherited from ConfigurationValidatorAttribute)

Methods

Equals(Object)

Returns a value that indicates whether this instance is equal to a specified object.

(Inherited from Attribute)
GetHashCode()

Returns the hash code for this instance.

(Inherited from Attribute)
GetType()

Gets the Type of the current instance.

(Inherited from Object)
IsDefaultAttribute()

When overridden in a derived class, indicates whether the value of this instance is the default value for the derived class.

(Inherited from Attribute)
Match(Object)

When overridden in a derived class, returns a value that indicates whether this instance equals a specified object.

Explicit Interface Implementations

_Attribute.GetIDsOfNames(Guid, IntPtr, UInt32, UInt32, IntPtr)

Maps a set of names to a corresponding set of dispatch identifiers.

(Inherited from Attribute)
_Attribute.GetTypeInfo(UInt32, UInt32, IntPtr)

Retrieves the type information for an object, which can be used to get the type information for an interface.

(Inherited from Attribute)
_Attribute.GetTypeInfoCount(UInt32)

Retrieves the number of type information interfaces that an object provides (either 0 or 1).

(Inherited from Attribute)
_Attribute.Invoke(UInt32, Guid, UInt32, Int16, IntPtr, IntPtr, IntPtr, IntPtr)

Provides access to properties and methods exposed by an object.
