ID3DXEffect::BeginParameterBlock method

Start capturing state changes in a parameter block.

Syntax

HRESULT BeginParameterBlock();

Parameters

This method has no parameters.

Return value

Type: HRESULT

If the method succeeds, the return value is D3D_OK. If the method fails, the return value can be one of the following: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL, D3DXERR_INVALIDDATA.

Remarks

Capture effect parameter state changes until EndParameterBlock is called. Effect parameters include any state changes outside of a pass. Delete parameter blocks if they are no longer needed by calling DeleteParameterBlock.
