Using a phone for any reason during a Microsoft certification exam is considered misconduct and can result in exam termination and a ban from the Microsoft Credentials Program. This aligns with the published security and conduct policies for both test centers and online proctored exams.
To attempt to resolve the ban, the only supported path is the formal appeal process:
- Submit an appeal within 14 calendar days of the date on the ban notification email.
- Send the appeal to the Microsoft Worldwide Learning Security Team at the email address specified in the Candidate Appeal Process section.
- Clearly explain the situation, including:
- Exam name and date (DP-600, April 4)
- That the exam was online via Pearson OnVUE
- What happened leading up to the termination
- Wait for the investigation and final decision. The Security Team will review the case and communicate the outcome directly.
If the 14‑day window has already passed, appeals are not reviewed or granted according to the policy.
For any additional questions about scheduling or future exams (if the ban is lifted), use the standard certification support channels such as the certification support links provided in the context.
