    Hi @Urooj Butt,

From your description, it seems that Microsoft Word is encountering an error and closing unexpectedly. To better understand the issue and guide you accurately, could you please help provide a bit more detail:

    1. Are you using Microsoft Word as part of Microsoft 365, Office 2021, or another version?
    2. When exactly does the error occur (for example: when opening Word, opening a specific document, or during editing)?
    3. Do you see any specific error message or code before Word closes? If yes, please share a screenshot (you may hide any personal information).
    4. Is this happening with all documents or only a specific file?
    5. Have there been any recent changes on your device (updates, new software installation, etc.)?
    6. What device and operating system are you using (Windows version or macOS version)?
    7. Additionally, if possible, please confirm whether you have already tried any troubleshooting steps (such as restarting the device, repairing Office, or reinstalling Word).

Once we have this information, I’ll be in a better position to guide you with the next steps.

    Looking forward to your response.

Do an online Repair after making sure that your license is attached to your Microsoft account.

Use an Online Repair of Office, because the built‑in “Repair now” from the error dialog often does not fully fix this problem.

    Follow these steps on Windows:

    1. Close all Office apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
    2. Open Settings from the Start menu.
    3. Go to System > Apps (or Apps > Installed apps, depending on Windows version).
    4. Find the Microsoft Office or Microsoft 365 Apps entry in the list.
    5. Select it and choose Modify.
    6. Select Online Repair, then choose Repair and let the process complete.
    7. When it finishes, restart the computer and try opening Word again.

If the error still appears in all Office apps after an Online Repair, completely uninstall Office from Apps & Features/Installed apps, restart the PC, then reinstall Office from the Microsoft account where the subscription or license is registered.
