Ovládací DataGridView prvek zobrazí své buňky pomocí stylů označených vlastností buňky InheritedStyle , která dědí styly z jiných vlastností typu DataGridViewCellStyle. Pro buňky ve všech řádcích, s výjimkou buněk záhlaví, styly zadané prostřednictvím RowsDefaultCellStyle vlastnosti přepisují styly zadané prostřednictvím DefaultCellStyle a DataGridViewColumn.DefaultCellStyle vlastnosti a jsou přepsány styly zadanými prostřednictvím AlternatingRowsDefaultCellStyleDataGridViewRow.DefaultCellStyle, a DataGridViewCell.Style vlastnosti.
