AKS public IP load balancer

Hi, I'm new on AKS. When i create a new AKS cluster, by default is created a public load balancer and a public ip. This public ip is used only for egress correct? Any ingress service deployed after create a new public ip, correct?

Kubernetes cluster version update

Having updated the Kubernetes version of the cluster to 1.27.9 a few months ago as LTS, I would like to know the price of long-term support for this version. I would also like to know what failure to update the cluster version would mean.
