    Hi jan Lindstrom,

Error 30045‑27 typically indicates that the Microsoft 365 update process did not complete successfully. This can happen if the Click‑to‑Run service is stuck, the Office installation is partially damaged, or something on the PC or network (such as antivirus, firewall, VPN, or a restricted connection) is interfering with the update.

Please try the steps below in order:

    1. Restart the PC, then try the update again from any Office app: File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
    2. If it still fails, temporarily test on a different network if possible. You can also briefly disable antivirus, VPN, or firewall filtering to check whether security software is blocking the update.
    3. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft 365 > Modify, then run Quick Repair.
    4. If Quick Repair doesn’t help, run Online Repair from the same menu. This is a more complete repair (similar to a reinstall‑in‑place) and often resolves stubborn 30045‑27 errors.
    5. If the issue continues, use Microsoft’s official Office uninstall troubleshooter, restart the PC, and then reinstall Microsoft 365.

    Notes:

    • You may need local administrator rights to run Modify/Repair.
    • Online Repair may sign you out of Office apps, so make sure you know the Microsoft account used for your subscription.
    • If Office was installed from the Microsoft Store, updates are handled through the Store app rather than Update Options inside Office.

If the error still occurs after these steps, please reply with:

    • Whether this is Microsoft 365 Personal or Family
    • Whether Office was installed via the Microsoft Store or Click‑to‑Run
    • Whether the error happens on all networks or only one

That information will help narrow down the next steps.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you, or if you would like further assistance.

I'm looking forward to your reply.
