Error 30045‑27 typically indicates that the Microsoft 365 update process did not complete successfully. This can happen if the Click‑to‑Run service is stuck, the Office installation is partially damaged, or something on the PC or network (such as antivirus, firewall, VPN, or a restricted connection) is interfering with the update.
Please try the steps below in order:
- Restart the PC, then try the update again from any Office app: File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
- If it still fails, temporarily test on a different network if possible. You can also briefly disable antivirus, VPN, or firewall filtering to check whether security software is blocking the update.
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Microsoft 365 > Modify, then run Quick Repair.
- If Quick Repair doesn’t help, run Online Repair from the same menu. This is a more complete repair (similar to a reinstall‑in‑place) and often resolves stubborn 30045‑27 errors.
- If the issue continues, use Microsoft’s official Office uninstall troubleshooter, restart the PC, and then reinstall Microsoft 365.
