My Microsoft 365 subscription renewed automatically on 18 June. I intended to cancel and don’t want the renewal. Please turn off recurring billing and refund the renewal charge

Do you see your subscription product listed when you sign in to your account at https://account.microsoft.com/services ? In that case, you should be able to turn off recurring billing and then cancel the subscription. Note that the exact options that you see will depend on how you purchased the subscription.

Hello, here is how you can handle this situation:

First, turn off recurring billing: https://account.microsoft.com/services

Log in to your account, locate your Microsoft 365 subscription, click "Manage," and select "Turn off recurring billing" (or "Cancel subscription") to prevent future charges.

Next, request a refund: Go to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders

Find the charge record from June 18 and click "Request a refund." If there is no refund button on the page, you can contact Microsoft Support at https://support.microsoft.com/contactus

    to submit a refund request.

Generally, the sooner you apply, the higher the chance of success; eligibility for a refund depends on usage and regional policies.

Recurring billing and refunds for Microsoft 365 subscriptions cannot be changed from here.

To stop future renewals and request a refund for the recent renewal:

    1. Turn off recurring billing:
      1. Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services and sign in with the same Microsoft account used to buy the subscription.
      2. Find the Microsoft 365 subscription and select Manage.
      3. Select Turn off recurring billing (or Edit recurring billing → select OffSave).
        • If the page instead shows Turn on recurring billing, recurring billing is already off and the subscription will end on the Expires on date.
    2. Cancel the renewed subscription (where available):
      1. On the same Manage page, select Cancel subscription (or Upgrade or Cancel).
      2. Review the Please review section and follow the prompts.
      3. Choose I don't want my subscription to complete cancellation.
    3. Request a refund (if eligible):
      • After canceling, eligibility for a refund depends on Microsoft’s subscription refund rules and timing. Use the cancellation flow above; if a refund is available, it is offered during that process.

If the Cancel or Turn off recurring billing options do not appear, or the subscription was purchased through a third party (for example, Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, or a retail store), contact that retailer’s support to manage cancellation and any refund.
