Can't launch Minecraft

I used to have the original minecraft launcher but for some reason it stopped letting me log in. I deleted it and tried to re-install it just for it to open the xbox app and start installing it on there. Minecraft on the xbox app just crashes while loading every time and my curseforge won't load it. I tried doing a verify and repair multiple times just for it to do nothing.

    Hello Logan Lester,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

May I know if you have had the chance to check on the AI assistant suggestion yet? If you did, may I know how it goes?

Before we proceed further, I'd like to ask a few questions to better understand the situation.

    • May I know if there are any other games that have the same issues?
    • You mentioned Cursed Forge, are you running any mods that might conflict with the game?

In the meantime, please try to follow the steps below:

    • Go to Settings > Time & language > Date & time.
    • Make sure "Set time automatically" and "Set time zone automatically" is enabled.
    • Select "Sync now" to synchronize the clock.

Use these steps to troubleshoot Minecraft not launching from the Xbox app / Microsoft Store on Windows 11:

    1. Make sure Windows and Microsoft Store apps are fully updated
      1. Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates and install any available updates.
      2. Open Microsoft Store.
      3. Select See more (⋯) > Downloads and updates > Get updates and let Store update all apps, including Microsoft Store, Xbox, and Minecraft.
    2. Reset the Microsoft Store cache
      1. Press Windows key + R.
      2. Type wsreset.exe and select OK.
      3. A blank Command Prompt window opens and closes after a few seconds, then Microsoft Store opens automatically.
      4. Try installing/launching Minecraft again from Store/Xbox.
    3. Reinstall Gaming Services (required for Xbox / Store games)
      1. Launch PowerShell as administrator.
      2. Run:
              get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

      3. In the same PowerShell window, run:
              start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

      4. In the Store page that opens, install Gaming Services (accept the UAC prompt).
      5. When finished, retry installing/launching Minecraft from the Xbox app.
    4. Ensure the Xbox app itself is healthy
      1. Confirm the PC is in the normal RETAIL sandbox (not a dev sandbox) so the Xbox app and Gaming Services can be updated.
      2. If the Xbox app seems broken, in PowerShell as administrator run:
              get-appxpackage Microsoft.XboxApp | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
              start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9mv0b5hzvk9z

      3. Reinstall the Xbox app from the Store page that opens, then try Minecraft again.
    5. If apps from Store still fail to launch Work through the general Store-app fixes:
      1. Close and reopen the Minecraft Launcher.
      2. Confirm Windows is fully updated (step 1).
      3. If other Store apps also do not launch or install, follow the guidance in Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store and I can't find or install an app from Microsoft Store (including checking region, family settings, device authorization, and restarting the PC after updates).

If Minecraft Java Edition works but the Windows/Bedrock version from Store continues to crash after all steps above, the next escalation is to focus on GPU drivers (including trying a clean reinstall or a known-stable driver version), as driver issues have been confirmed to cause unknown crashes in Minecraft for Windows.
