Hi,

I have been trying to use Edge Workspaces since it's open for personal usage customers, however, it is still not available for me to use and I keep getting errors like this:

I've tried removing and adding my account and the issue still occurs, and I have two laptops with the same account and the issue is still the same.

I'm really looking forward to using this feature so please someone help me out here.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

just to confirm: this really seems to be account related. I am facing the same issue as StarLu. I did get Workspaces to work a few weeks ago, and today I wanted to get to them on another computer, which didn't work (same 404 error as StarLu). They continue to work fine on the first one, even after signing out and back in. I tried to isolate the cause (trying Edge on a Mac, on an fresh Win11 install in a VM, with the Canary version...) The only thing that worked (but is obviously not a solution) is to create a new Microsoft Account. My account is pretty old (a @msn.com from the early 2000's), but I don't think that should matter.

I did send a feedback report, hopefully it can be resolved, Workspaces is a nice feature.

Yes, I did, and the team replied that it would be fixed in the next update.

For anyone who came across the same issue, I somehow fixed it by myself.

    • Go to Settings
    • Under the Profiles > Sync
      • Scroll down to the bottom, you should see "Still having sync problems? Try another option", click it
      • You should seeing this:
      • Click "Reset sync"

After the resetting, my issue was fixed.

Hope it helps anyone who has the same issue.

Tried this and all the other recommendations and it still doesn't work.

In my case out of ~5 workspaces I have - only a single workspace crashes my Edge completely.

Reinstalling, repairing, resyncing does not fix the issues, since the problem is not on a local machine.

The workspace itself is corrupted and stored in a corrupted state on MS servers - So probably the only fix would be to delete the workspace and recreate it, but this workspace corruption has not happened for the first time and recreating a workspace from scratch every single time something goes wrong is just plain stupid...

MS should create some fallback / workaround / validation - invisible autorepair process of the workspace with best effort of recoving as much data as possible, instead of letting the program hard crash. (This bug has been around for as long as I remember the Edge workspaces exist)
