Hello, I recently factory reset my windows 10 desktop and one it was ready for setup windows would not detect my keyboard or mouse rendering my computer unusable, please help.
It your machine's USB ports are still usable, suggest you try connect with external cable keyboard and cable mouse before pressing power button.
After those external devices can be detected, proceed the installation and then we can troubleshoot within Windows 10 UI later on.
Once you have the Windows 10 logic, go to Lenovo website to download their latest device driver and test.

I also encountered this issue for the first time.
Selected the custom option and formatted the partition first which seemed to fix the problem.

I just had this same issue. I chose to do a reset of a Lenovo mini and mouse and keyboard wouldn't work at the set up portion. Works in Bios though.
Anyway, the solution for me was to install windows from a USB drive.

it looks like a factory reset would have installed windows XP/vista/7/8/8.1
If you can create a USB bootable thumb drive with Windows 10 install media on it, boot the computer from that, select Custom install and first delete all disk partitions. Install directly to the unallocated disk space. Since this computer supports Windows 8.1, if your mouse and keyboard work after booting from this USB install media, you should be fine.
You can create this USB using the Media Creation Tool.

Use another mouse and keyboard
Other mice and keyboards do not work. Only have usb on new machines.

I suffer the same problem ... When the setup has to start, the keyboard and mouse turn off. I tried with usb but also with ps / 2. The problem seems to be due to the operating system. If I install a 64bit OS I can run normal setup. If I run a 32bit image, the keyboard and mouse lock. I desperately need a 32bit OS. I use some old, very old PARADOX programs ... And in 64bit it doesn't work.
II have tried different keyboards, ports and nothing works to get 32-bit installation of Windows 10.
Keyboard and mouse stop working after the 32-bit setup.exe starts. Asus Z690 Hero motherboard.
I will try to see if Asus can give me help on some bios setting.
Keyboard and mouse work fine with Media creation tool created a USB drive with the 64-bit setup.exe.
