Hello, I recently factory reset my windows 10 desktop and one it was ready for setup windows would not detect my keyboard or mouse rendering my computer unusable, please help.
It your machine's USB ports are still usable, suggest you try connect with external cable keyboard and cable mouse before pressing power button.
After those external devices can be detected, proceed the installation and then we can troubleshoot within Windows 10 UI later on.
Once you have the Windows 10 logic, go to Lenovo website to download their latest device driver and test.

I also encountered this issue for the first time.
Selected the custom option and formatted the partition first which seemed to fix the problem.

I just had this same issue. I chose to do a reset of a Lenovo mini and mouse and keyboard wouldn't work at the set up portion. Works in Bios though.
Anyway, the solution for me was to install windows from a USB drive.

I have the same issue with a Lenovo Tiny M70. I went to do a new install of Windows 10, which was previously installed and worked fine. (I moved its 1TB SSD to another Lenovo and was trying to use a smaller, spare SSD). I cannot get the computer to recognized either the mouse or the keyboard. Both work fine in Bios. Since I can't initiate windows, I am locked out, unable to see or change drivers, exactly as shown in the photo in a prior post, and the PC is basically a brick... Any suggestions other than what is set forth int he posts above? I have tried it all.
I am thinking about cloning a drive from one of my other M70s and installing it.

Hi did you find how to fix the problem ?
I stopped trying. I don't really need the Tiny-I have four others currently in use, plus a laptop and a small tower. I think I am just going to clone a drive from another Tiny and try that.
After cloning a drive and it failing, claiming disk errors, I just tossed the Lenovo Tiny and ordered a refurbished unit for $180.
I am sure the problem is solvable, but I've wasted too much time and energy on it.
I tried a clean windows install on a new SSD, clearing Bios Cache, updating Bios, every possible Bios configuration, different mouse and keyboard...
The keyboard and mouse are recognized in Bios, or when windows detects an error while loading and goes into repair mode, but once windows starts, no keyboard or mouse.
Very frustrating-but that Lenovo Tiny is now in the scrap pile.

Was having the same issue on my Surface Book 3, setup runs but keyboard and touchpad mouse doesn't respond so I couldn't click Next. Problem was that there were no drivers installed for keyboard/mouse. Crazy because both keyboard and touchpad mouse works just fine in UEFI. I solved my issue by plugging in a USB keyboard/mouse and that got me through Windows 11 Setup.

Windows 11 always works because everything is 64-bit.
32-bit versions of Windows setup.exe have the problem. Very frustrating.

Fresh installed Windows 11 22H2 and both the builtin keyboard + touchpad do not cooperate either on a Surface Laptop 5. Had to use USB devices for setup and downloading/installing the Surface driver pack for the device before the components resumed work. This raises the question, why the the OS and the hardware teams at Microsoft do not at least do their best to have full support out of the box by their OS for their own hardware platform.

Maybe this is couse a microsoft Windows, and will be ever microsoft windows
