Hi I have a HP Spectre laptop and I have had bluetooth on my laptop. Today my microsoft bluetooth mouse stopped working as well as my other bluetooth devices. I have checked and this is the message I get. Now I have had bluetooth on this laptop since I purchased it and have not done anything to the laptop.

"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

"To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."

and this:

Device USB\VID_8087&PID_0A2B\5&3a83d6be&0&7 requires further installation."

How can I fix this!!!

Thank you, tried that, didn't help.

Before trying that path, I found out this morning, after leaving the laptop locked for the night but on, that the Bluetooth adapter was hidden on the config panel (did not happen before). When running the diagnostics Windows says that the device is disconnected. Impossible to "reconnect" it, I updated the driver (no change) then uninstalled the device. Of course now it totally disappeared from the panel.

So I did like the other poster and ordered an external bluetooth dongle. Sigh.

Bluetooth in some, maybe all computers runs or gets power or something from the usb bus.  That being said you might want to look at this Microsoft support article. - USB devices may stop working after installing the February 13, 2018 update (KB4074588)

I've plugged in a cheap bluetooth dongle and that's restored all functions while we wait for a proper fix.

Same exact problem with a HP Spectre 13.  MX Ergo mouse worked fine until the latest MS Windows update.  After the update, I have no Bluetooth radio and the same error message (45) indicated above.  Rebuilt Spectre and Bluetooth was fine until I patched system with Microsoft security patch and then had no Bluetooth again.  I suppose I must choose between unpatched and Bluetooth on this device?  Just silly.
