Persistent NVIDIA GPU Issue with Code 43 on Windows 11

Despite the GPU (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q Design) being recognized in the BIOS and listed in Device Manager, it does not appear in Task Manager. As a result, my system defaults to using the integrated Intel(R) UHD Graphics.
In Device Manager, next to the driver, a Code 43 error is reported with the message 'The device has reported a problem and has been stopped.' Additionally, the NVIDIA Control Panel does not launch.

Here's a brief summary of the steps I've already attempted, unfortunately without success:

  1. Complete uninstallation of NVIDIA drivers in Safe Mode
  2. Updating drivers directly from NVIDIA's website
  3. Installing drivers through NVIDIA GeForce Experience
  4. Reinstalling the NVIDIA Control Panel
  5. Restarting NVIDIA Display Container LS from Services

I've noticed that my issue mirrors one discussed in a previous thread: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/nvidia-control-panel-is-not-opening-gpu-driver-is/806a0e62-384b-4d1c-9386-8900c2a2ce14

I believe this is not a hardware problem.

UPDATE: The issue has been resolved and it was a hardware issue.

What you can try to do is to repair your Windows system but the error code indicates a hardware problem.

Had the same issue with a 1050ti for months (it would randomly work for weeks and then stop again)

Still have to see on the long run but changing "primary display" setting in the BIOS from CPU to AUTO seems to have fixed it

    G'day,

Have been having the same issue with my Nvidia 2070 showing Code 43 error. Disabling and re-enabling it in Device Manager gets rid of the error code but windows still doesn't seem to see the GPU, the GPU doesn't show in Task Manager. The error code reappears when the computer is restarted. I cant open Nvidia Control Panel and GeForce Experience keeps prompting me to install the latest driver even though it is installed.

I don't have an option in my BIOS to select which GPU to use

The only fix I have found is to disable and re-enable the Nvidia GPU in Device Manager than uninstall the Intel UHD Graphics, restart the computer. The Nvidia GPU is now recognized by windows, shows in Task Manager, Nvidia Control panel starts up, GeForce Experience recognizes that the latest driver is installed and I can play games again. The Nvidia GPU appears to be performing as it should.

The only issues is when I restart the computer again windows reinstalls the Intel UHD drivers and stops the Nvidia GPU and I'm back at square one with the error code 43.

    Specs of my laptop

    Infinity S7

    Intel Core i7-8750H CPU

    16.0 GB RAM

    Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070

    464GB SSD / 465GB SSD / 894GB SSD

Update on My issue, after a while my temporary fix no longer worked, I sent my laptop for repair and it ended up being faulty video card memory, which was replaced and now the GPU is working as it should.
