System Firmware Cannot Start

System firmware is showing a code 10 error message on device manager, saying that "firmware update was unsuccessful." Could this be because I have a BIOS update? My laptop is an Asus G14 2021 model

(My laptop also froze recently and was making a buzzing noise from the speakers which I'm not sure if it is related to this or not.)

Yes a rollback of the driver is worth a try.

Please let me know what ASUS support says and if they are able to resolve the issue please mention the steps taken at that others having similar issue can be helped.

Hey, so I tried updating the BIOS using the built-in MyASUS app, it made me restart pc and everything, but I'm pretty sure my BIOS version is still the same...

(Also, this was my first time attempting a BIOS update, so not sure if I did it right. Do I need to have a usb drive plugged into my laptop for it to work?)

No you donot need to insert a usb to do a BIOS update. Was the process (after which you felt that the version was same) completed successfully without any error?

And what about the firmware driver now? Does it still show your error?

The ASUS support site may have a guide to recover from a failed Bios upgrade, unfortunately, those sites seem to be undergoing maintenance today.

How the Bios is updated is set by ASUS. There may be a downloadable installer which will restart the system and do the Bios update or there may be a place in the Bios to identify the new Bios update and run it from there. On my ASUS desktop, that is available in the Tools section of the Bios.

On my Dell systems, I will see Bios updates provided through Windows update if you check to optional updates section.

There do appear to be several more definitive model numbers for that system so make sure you are looking at the correct one.

This link at ASUS may help, there is a section for Bios situations.
