2021-08-09T15:10:03.283+00:00 KB5004237 seems to be causing issues on O/S version 21H1.
HP 830 G6 wont install 21H1, G1 to G5s do.
Not sure if hardware, driver or other issue.
next test is to build 21H1 from scratch, no updates applied what soever and then leave for 2 weeks to see what happens.

2021-08-11T11:06:37.727+00:00 I am not sure if people are still checking this thread, but here's what I did to fix the installation of this update on my copy of Windows :
- Uninstall the update using the admin cmd line : wusa /uninstall /kb:5004237
- Run SFC /scannow followed by DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to fix any corrupted system files.
- This is the part that I was previously missing : Remove any secondary OS you have on system, no dual boot. I've had a second copy of Windows deployed using Rufus (instead of the Windows USB tool) and it was for some reason preventing me from installing this KB, as crazy as this sounds. Use Disk management to remove the Volume with the other OS on it, then extend another volume into the newly unallocated space. Windows should automatically stop showing you the boot selection menu at Startup. If it doesn't : Search and run Msconfig, go to the boot tab and delete the secondary OS.
- Enable Windows Secure Boot in the BIOS. Every BIOS menu differs per manufacturer, but they should always have an option in boot or security to enable Secure Boot. The reason I disabled Secure Boot? Rufus required it as part of installation.
- Reinstall the KB using Windows Update itself or the Update assistant. I used "Check for Updates" and it re-downloaded it and installed it alongside some other .NET Framework update.
- After the installation, go to Services, you'll notice that "App Readiness" Service is disabled, start it, and set it as Automatic.
- Now Restart, if all goes well, it should reach around 30% before rebooting, then 100% after rebooting.
A few notes : I never once removed or touched Edge ever. So the suggestion of uninstalling it or reinstalling it never worked for me. Thanks to a comment on page 2, I noticed that App Readiness Service always shuts down whenever installing this update. So before rebooting to finalize the update, I always make sure to restart the Service.
I ran DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth at some point as well to try to fix anything wrong with the OS system files. What I haven't done to completion though is the "In place upgrade" suggestion. I tried it once but I used an ISO image of Windows 10 Pro 21H1, but it failed to setup properly. Attempting to bypass the problem by installing the 21H1 feature update also didn't work. So hopefully the steps above should help.Good luck.

2021-08-16T01:12:10.3+00:00 The Windows 10 May 2021 update did it for me. At least, I think so, although I also edited my startup programs to be almost nothing, and in particular, disabled Discord at startup. Prior to doing that update, I deleted all downloaded update files. If I have continued problems, will comment here.
