Document's format changes when working on the same document on different computers

We are using Publisher 2010 on the computers in our office but when opening the same document on different computers the formatting is different, specifically the spacing between lines.  Which means you cannot share the document between these two computers.  When the text on the 2nd computer is highlighted it shows a space above the text as if it were a much large font size.  This is only true for one of the computers.  Others work just fine.  What's wrong with the one that doesn't display correctly?

Check to make sure that the odd computer is not running Pub 2007. MS changed the default paragraph settings in Pub 2010.

Are you just opening the file to see the difference, or copy and pasting into a different publication?

We have Windows 7 on all the computers except that the one with the issue is using Windows 8. We are using Publisher 2010 version 14.0.6023.1000 (32-bit).

We did create the original file with that version.

The fonts, font size, line spacing, hyphenation, justification settings are all the same.  The same words appear on the same lines.  What appears different is that the space between the lines is smaller with the computer using Windows 8 and the text boxes appear to have shifted ever so slightly to the right of the grid lines. The result is that when someone places text into text boxes on the Windows 8 computer, a person opening the file on a Windows 7 computer has text overflowing off of the text box. If someone with the Windows 7 makes edits to the file, when it is reopened on the Windows 8 machine, there is additional space in all the text boxes that wasn't there previously.

Previously I wrote that the Styles appeared missing on the Windows 8 machine, but I was incorrect.  When I click a text box and then look at the styles, they are all there.

We are having the same problem, but I have a further clue.  The PC where the text appears different has no Styles listed. Only the choices Import Style and New Style show up. The PCs where the text appears unchanged have a long list of Styles, including Normal, which is the one chosen.

What operating system on each computer?

What version of Publisher and did you create the original pub file with that version?

Can you be more specific as to what you mean by the "text appears different"? Different font, font size, line spacing, hyphenation, justification, etc.

Yes, both computers are running 2010.  There is no copying or pasting involved.  When documents are opened on the two computers the line spacing is different.  Have played around with the STYLE settings thinking that may be the problem, but have not been able to figure this one out...
