Document's format changes when working on the same document on different computers

We are using Publisher 2010 on the computers in our office but when opening the same document on different computers the formatting is different, specifically the spacing between lines.  Which means you cannot share the document between these two computers.  When the text on the 2nd computer is highlighted it shows a space above the text as if it were a much large font size.  This is only true for one of the computers.  Others work just fine.  What's wrong with the one that doesn't display correctly?

Check to make sure that the odd computer is not running Pub 2007. MS changed the default paragraph settings in Pub 2010.

Are you just opening the file to see the difference, or copy and pasting into a different publication?

I've not had any further problems with forwarding on PDF made in publisher (that I'm aware of).

It may be that everyone I have sent files to may not use Win 8.

...is there any way to embed the fonts into a PDF, if they are not already?

Just on a side not to what others have said above, if you copy over your fonts from Windows 7 to Windows 8, while it might sold the problem in Publish on your computer, it won't solve the issue for other Windows 8 users.  If you send the document to other Windows 8 users or an exported PDF from it to other Windows 8 users, the alignment will all be messed up!  This issue has rendered Publisher documents problematic for distribution in their ray PUB format or a PDF format!  I'm bloody disgusted with this!  It needs to be FIXED!!!!

This is a bloody disaster!!! I've just encountered this issue myself! It is affecting the layout in Publisher and with its created PDF's!! How the **** are us suppose to use Publisher now because any document we export will look different on a users computer based on what version of Windows they are running! What a bloody joke Windows 8 is!! This needs to be fixed!!

    DavidF,

I'm having no problems at all since installing the fonts from Windows 7.  (That is with the same files being shared on Skydrive on all of our Windows 7 and 8 machines).

I also don't find the text to be 'blurred' in Windows 8 or in internet explorer.

    Adam,

So all your files are opening in both Win7 and 8 without any shifting as long as you copied over the font files from Win7, correct? I assume you also only are using Arial?

I would never have guessed this solution.

I wasn't suggesting the blurring as much as saying that maybe one of the other problems with the new font engine might be this size issue that we are experiencing in Publisher.

Anyway, you have added a valuable clue and seemingly a workaround solution. Thanks again for your contribution.

**Would you mind providing the specific steps you took to install the Win7 fonts in Win8?**DavidF
