Even worse than that.  I'm Belgian, living in Belgium and speaking French.  I cannot get Excel online formulas in neither French or English because Microsoft is inferring the language from the country and thinks that all Belgian people are speaking Dutch. The only way to get out of it is to cheat and claim that my location is France (with all the side effects of it..)

Come on, Microsoft !  Listen to your customers !

You're absolutely right! In fact, Google Docs lead the pack in many other ways as well when it comes to functionality, it is surprising that MS is so slow on the uptake.

Changing regional settings don't change the formula language in Excel.

From my own experience, and from the comments of my fellow users, it seems that Microsoft fails to appreciate that a lot of users find using formulas and functions translated into local languages very cumbersome. A lot of folks have grown up using functions in English, and it makes little sense to go to the trouble of renaming your entire toolbox.

This is the crux of the matter, and my hope is that the developers at Microsoft may accommodate users to the effect of separating regional settings and menu/functions language in their online Office versions.

I lived in Finland half year and now I am back in Czech Republic almost one year. My functions in excel are still in Finnish even thou I have never ask to be so. The funniest part is I am receiving promotion email from Microsoft in Finnish, which is very f... useful.

The email seem be nice but I have no idea what is the message :( and it is quite interesting that this problem is here more than two years. Good job MS, you are lightning fast.

Thanks for your feedback.  It is turning out to be quite a complicated problem, but I can say that we are actively investigating.  I can't promise anything at this point, but I can tell you that we hear your concerns and are very interested in improving this experience.

For now, the formula language is still based on your Country/Region, as defined for your Microsoft account.

Fast forward 2 years. Are you still "investigating" this "quite a complicated problem"? How long it takes f$N# Microsoft to fix something as trivial as this?! I do not want my formulas in Finnish - I want them in English! Period! Also, changing the region of my account is affecting other services, e.g. store and Xbox, so just fuc$I#g fix this **** as people are asking!
