Problems with Workflows

Hi

I have created a vacation request site on my online SharePoint, based on a department a manager is selected to approve the vacation.

my problem is:

Once a task is assigned to a manager I get the below error:

Retrying last request. Next attempt scheduled in less than one minute. Details of last request: HTTP InternalServerError to https://xxxxxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/LR/_api/SP.RelatedItemManager.addSingleLink?SourceListName=xxxxxxxxx

[Personal information removed by MSFT]

The request needs to be approved by multiple managers.

the strange thing is:

once the task is assigned to the first manager I get this error in the workflow status, when the manager approves the task nothing happens till after a couple of days, then a task will be assigned to the second manager for approval

I'm a SharePoint  beginner so I don't know what is going on, I contacted support and they told me that since the workflow is created with SharePoint Designer 2013 it is out of their scope and closed my case.

can someone help me with my problems, I'm starting to give up on SharePoint and O365.

Regards,

    Hi Johnny,

To troubleshoot the issue, could you provide the following information via Private Message?

    1. The template of the workflow. To get the workflow template: Open the SharePoint Online list in SharePoint Designer>On the left panel, click Workflows>Find the workflow and click the workflow name>Click Save as Template in the top menu bar.>Go to the SharePoint Online site>Click Site Contents on the left navigation section>Open the Site Assets library>Download the workflow template and upload to the workspace in the Private Message.
    2. The template of the SharePoint Online lists. To get the list template: Go to List Settings>Under Permissions and Management , click Save list as template>Input the request information and check Include Content, and click OK to save it.>Go to Site Settings>Click List templates under Web Designer Galleries>Find the list template and download it>Upload it to the workspace.
    3. The screenshot of the workflow history.

    Regards,

    Fraser

    Hi Johnny,

In this case, please try to login to the issued site and then go to Site Settings> Site Actions> Manage site features> Try to deactivate and re-activate "Workflows can use app permissions" feature, and compare the result. For your reference:

Designer Workflow + Retrying last request: InternalServerError + HTTP 500 Access is denied.

    Regards,

    Fraser

    Hi,

I have already done what you have asked, If i create an easy email workflow and it works properly

I have set the workflow to another list it gives error.

1-yes it is a custom workflow created in share point designer 2013

2- yes it involves sending email but it doesn't reach that stage, and the steps in the article are not relevant to my error
