Problems with Workflows

Hi

I have created a vacation request site on my online SharePoint, based on a department a manager is selected to approve the vacation.

my problem is:

Once a task is assigned to a manager I get the below error:

Retrying last request. Next attempt scheduled in less than one minute. Details of last request: HTTP InternalServerError to https://xxxxxxxxx.sharepoint.com/sites/LR/_api/SP.RelatedItemManager.addSingleLink?SourceListName=xxxxxxxxx

[Personal information removed by MSFT]

The request needs to be approved by multiple managers.

the strange thing is:

once the task is assigned to the first manager I get this error in the workflow status, when the manager approves the task nothing happens till after a couple of days, then a task will be assigned to the second manager for approval

I'm a SharePoint  beginner so I don't know what is going on, I contacted support and they told me that since the workflow is created with SharePoint Designer 2013 it is out of their scope and closed my case.

can someone help me with my problems, I'm starting to give up on SharePoint and O365.

Regards,

    Hi Johnny,

I have checked the template you uploaded, but I can’t reproduce the issue on my side. Given the situation, please provide the following information, so I can involve the related team to help look into this issue:

1.I suppose the list template you provided in PM is the Approve list you mentioned in the workflow. In  your workflow, both sales stage and the technical stage are using Approval list:1st manager.  Regarding "once the task is assigned to the first manager … then a task will be assigned to the second manager for approval", can you specify how you use 2st manager column in the approve list?

2.Can you use a custom list as your Approval list to do a test again? Because I see your approval list is customized with 3rd party form solutions?

3.About the action "then start a task process Approve list:1st manager (task outcome to variable:outcome)", please open both Approve list:1st manager and variable:outcome, then share the screenshot about your settings.

4.In your workflow, you can add log history for every action, run workflow then check history. It will help narrow down which step you are stuck.

5.Please capture a full screenshot of the error message "retrying last request" after running a workflow.

6.Your tenant information. To protect the privacy, I will move this conversation to Private Message to obtain such details. You can access it via this link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/privatemessages/list

    Thanks,

    Sky

    Hi Johnny,

For the current situation, we need to collect the related trace logs to proceed. Please access the Private message via this URL and follow the steps to capture logs.

In addition, we are not sure what your list settings are, so we can't do a full test on our side. Please save the lists as template and upload it to the private message above for our test.

Note: if this list has some lookup columns associated with other lists, please also upload those lists as well.

    Regards,

    Sky
