I am trying to delete a file but Word (android GalaxyNote5) is saying I do not have permission to delete

I do not have an option to delete in file manager; how did you?
@Hi Christina B-T, I opened file manager then went to downloads, pressed and held the document then it selects and delete icon appears at top.
Oh No, when i go back to word they are still there!
In the end I opened settings went to word and cleared cache and data. But this deleted everything.
