OneNote doesn't sync, error code 80070005

Up until a few days ago there was no problem with OneNote, but now I cannot sync anything.

When I type a note and exit it, when I come back on it, it has disappeared.

In sync status it says 'You don't have permission to edit this file and the sync has stopped. Contact the owner of the file to request approval and then try again.'

I own all of my note files and have never shared them with anyone else, so I do not see what the problem is.

On another note, the other apps on my Windows Phone are all stopping working. I cannot download any new notes apps, as an error comes up every time I access the store. This has been happening for almost a year now.

    Hi everyone,

You may known about this already-- a fix for this issue was released last night on 04/18 for Windows Phone customers. When you open the OneNote app, all your notebooks should be syncing to OneDrive across devices now.

You can track all the latest issue updates by visiting Fixes or workarounds for recent issues in OneNote for Windows.

    Thank you for using OneNote!

    Best,

    Noyonima

Reinstalling Onenote is not an option because it has been removed from the store. It is difficult to uninstall Onedrive because it is built into the phone.

Just to recap the situation here; Files saved to Onedrive on the desktop are listed immediately in Onedrive on the phone and vica-versa.  On the phone, when you open a bitmap image in Onedrive there is no problem.  However, when you open other document types, in Onedrive, on your phone, you get a permission error.  This error prevents you from downloading the file.  The complaints on this tread are mostly about Onenote problems that started on April 11.  In reality the problem extends to many other document types.  My tests show the following file types cannot be opened in Onedrive on a windows 8.1 phone ; ONE, XLSX, DOCX, RTF, TXT.

I was an early adopter of the Microsoft's surface computer and the Microsoft's windows phone.  This tech isn't toys for me.  I need this for work.  When this tech becomes unreliable I've got to dump it.  I've already switched to a Dell laptop.  On Tuesday, I'll buy my first android phone.  Honestly - my loyalty to the Microsoft hardware brand is virtually gone.

Same here.  Loved Windows Phone, love the MS band, but I'm done with this nonsense.  I bought my first Android.  FB Messenger gave a week's notice before discontinuing support for WP8, but you couldn't even give us that small amount of time before dropping it.  Lesson learned.

This stops working for everyone at exactly the same time, and you think "uninstalling and reinstalling" is the solution, even though you can't even uninstall OneNote and OneDrive is no longer offered so you'd never be able to reinstall it?  If you don't know, why not just say so instead of wasting our time or making things worse?  Anyone who takes this advice will lose all access to OneDrive on WP8

Happening to me also! I am a loyal and paid subscriber of onedrive because I really love microsoft product. But this just sucks, man! I use One note & Office Lens daily as my primary tools for work. This is vital for me. I believe microsoft can easily solved this if they wanted to.
