I had the exact same problem with a client's computer. Through a process of elimination, I found that Malwarebytes caused the issue. As soon as I disabled it, I could save files to any drive letter.
Exception Unknown Software Exception (0xe0000002)
When attempting to save in any Office application (Word and Excel being the 2 I use). I have tried to fix the issue using the automated fixes, both the 'quick fix' and 'use the internet' fix. Neither have worked. Every time I try to save a document, the program crashes and I get the above error. How can I fix this?

There are several reasons why you are experiencing this issue and that's what we are going to find out. Before we proceed, did you make any changes on the computer before you encountered this concern?
In the meantime, we suggest that you perform an online repair via Control Panel:
- Right-click on Start menu.
- Go to Control Panel.
- Click on Programs.
- Under Programs and Features, click on Uninstall a program.
- Right-click on Microsoft Office 365.
- Click on Change.
- Select Online Repair.
- Once completed, make sure to restart the computer.
Doing the steps above will refresh your Office application.
Feel free to post back should you have further concern.
