I get the error

When attempting to save in any Office application (Word and Excel being the 2 I use). I have tried to fix the issue using the automated fixes, both the 'quick fix' and 'use the internet' fix. Neither have worked. Every time I try to save a document, the program crashes and I get the above error. How can I fix this?

I had the exact same problem with a client's computer. Through a process of elimination, I found that Malwarebytes caused the issue. As soon as I disabled it, I could save files to any drive letter.

5/12/17 I went through the online repair which uninstalls and reinstalls Office 365 and it DID NOT solve the problem. Still get the error.

    Hi Tami,

One of the possible reasons why you are experiencing this issue with Office is due to system file corruption. We would want to verify if you've already performed the troubleshooting steps provided by Desiree Yau posted last May 10, 2017 on this thread?

If you've already run the Office repair tool and the issue is still occurring, we suggest that you uninstall then reinstall your Office. For the detailed instructions on how to uninstall and reinstall Office, you can visit this link.

If you'll need further assistance, don't hesitate to post on this thread.
