Random Disconnections on RDS 2016 - Loads of ESENT errors

hi,

recently I've been having loads of rds disconnections on different servers (but not all) where all the users are disconnected and unable to login, when trying to login via console or mstsc /admin they fail as well (console just refreshes and removed the password from the field over and over) the only thing within the logs I can seem to find is a load (sometimes around 100) ESENT errors with different error numbers 482 is a usual one and the errors seem to say webcachetiles and insufficient resources. kind of run out of ideas with this... anything to do with AV or MRT?

any thoughts/help?

    That is really bad news.
We were hoping the new version would resolve the problem.
This problem started in july 2021 ... crazy we haven't updated office no more since that date.

Are you guys still having the same problem? We still do have it at a customer's on premise Hyper-V VDI environment. After downgrading office to 16.0.14026.20308 the random disconnections went away.
Did some of you already tested it with newer Office releases?

I had been experiencing exactly these issues of random disconnections of the session host servers. My client set up was brand new in September 2021, so I wasn't sure whether the issues were related to the configuration or resource levels on each session host server. After tweaking memory, disk and CPU seetings the errors reduced but would still occur. After seeing the flood of ESENT errors I found this post which desribes the exact symptons experienced. My set up is Server 2019 VDI with the latest Office Pro Plus installed on 3 Session Host servers. I have down downgraded the Office version to 16.0.14026.20308. So lets hope that resolves the issue.

    Hello,

The issue is back on version Office Standard LTSC 2021 (SPLA) 16.0.14332.20324.
And still on the latest: July 12, 2022 Version 2108 (Build 14332.20345) (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-2021)

We plan to downgrade Office to 2019 for this customer.
Do you also have issues on the version 2021 ?

    Regards,

    Hello,

I recently mount an RDS 2022 farm with Office 2021 standard LTSC version 16.0.14332.20461 and am having the same issues as described. Does anyone have a permanent solution ? Is there a reliable office version since 16.0.14332.20303 ?

    Thank you for your help
