SharePoint upload fails 'error in the application'

Am attempting to upload files to SharePoint of several clients.

Upload begins normally. After 2 - 4 mb of data transferred upload resets to 0 and begins again.

Upload continues normally until half of file is uploaded (eg 21.2mb of 42.4mb file)

Upload stops.

Approx. 5 minutes later error message "error in the application" appears.

Upload stopped.

File is displayed in SharePoint folder, but contains no data.

    Dear Team,

We (our Company IT Team and me) have done everything what we think we could do:

    • trying in every browser
    • trying with different files / sizes
    • clearing every temporary data/information in every browser
    • trying again in every browser / different files/sizes
    • changed the Sharepoint site from default to classic and new
    • trying again ....

and this at different days and times over the days.

Unfortunately every time with the same result: every file above 145 MB stucks ~ in the middle of the file.

Is it a general MS problem?

I do not know if it is so. I only know that my colleague (which is not the owner of the site but me) is able to upload files in a range of 195 MB.

He is also in Home office but sitting in a different city and he has a different provider.

I can confirm that the OneDrive sync trick does work.

Again baffling support from Microsoft, suggesting that all of these affected customers should contact their own IT about an issue that is very specific to SharePoint and is happening with slight variations to multiple customers.

    Dear HS_work_profile,

Thanks for reporting the issue here.

After involving some resources, there seems to be no server incident related to the upload issue in SharePoint Online, so I think that the issues in your environments may be related to the tenants or some specific users in some locations.

As the upload issue in your environment may be involved with some logs and further investigated by our related team, contacting the administrator in your company and let him open a support ticket to our related team as soon as possible may be the better way.

Sorry for that our category may have limited resources to contact our related team directly.

@Adeling, I'm glad to hear that the OneDrive sync client works in your environment. I suggest you use it as a current workaround in your environment.

Meanwhile, please contact the administrator in your company and let him open a support ticket to our related team as soon as possible so that our related team can help you further.

Thanks for your understanding and effort.

    Cliff

Just FYI, same issue here in Ubisoft Singapore studio, the PowerPoint file is 1.1 GB. Let's see if the OneDrive client may do the trick, but it should call Microsoft support team's attention, anyway.
