I also faced the issue and found the reason and fixed...

So anyone facing this issue can try the below unless there is any step missing and the utility is throwing validation..

    1. Search turn windows feature on or off
    2. Click on the plus sign against .NET framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)
    3. Select the new option and that option as well
    4. click on okay.... restart the excel based utility and then try generating the json again.

Hi, It's a different question and not about opening and reading json file. We have an excel utility, which meant to create a json file after filling the data into it.

So, after filling the data and validating it, we trying to create a json file through provided button in the utility and it is showing it has saved a jeson file into end and also showing the location of the folder, but at the end we are not able to see the file in to the mentioned folder by the excel utility.

Yes, I got the solution. I tried on windows 7 computer and job done! So, overall, the primary observation is, that the excel utility is not compatible with windows 10!

I don't have a Windows 7 laptop any longer. But I tried it on a Mac that does not have any Windows compatibility issues and it did not create the JSON file for me there either. Does anyone know what options one has since you cannot file the tax return without the JSON file?
